A graduate of the prestigious St. Martin’s College of Art in London, David began his career in 1985 with Colefax and Fowler in London. His work not only earned him notoriety among clients, but “Home & Garden Magazine” also named David “Most Interesting Newcomer.”

In 1992, he accepted a partnership at MacDonald Weston Interiors (MWI), which specialized in restoration, drapery fabrication and furniture production.

Six years later, the firm received the esteemed Prix d’Excellence from the Ministry of the Interior of France. When MWI’s parent company went public, David sold his shares and moved to southwest France.

There, David founded his own interior design company, DM Interiors, which focused on help-
ing relocated Americans renovate newly purchased homes. David’s fresh approach earned the company the Best Urban Regeneration Development award from the Regeneration Council
in 1993.

Desiring change and new challenges, in 2004 David sold DM Interiors and moved to New York City. There, David undertook the extensive renovation of a large coach house. Other residential renovations on 5th Avenue and Park Avenue followed. Later that same year, in 2004, David met a charming native of Grand Rapids and the pair moved into a new home in East Grand Rapids, Michigan.

After two years as a designer with Rock Home Studio, David’s entrepreneurial spirit once again resurfaced and, with Melanie Rogers, Think Design was born.
